my weekend of romance LOVE

love love love love love. it was seemingly everywhere this weekend. but was it really? or was there proof of an excessive holiday which begs to express a "sincere" emotion through pricey dinners, big bouquets of roses and $7 hallmark cards? i never quite understood the unsignificance of one day being singled out as a day of "love." papi had it right when he said he doesn't like to spend on roses just because society tells him to. he does nice things to show his love and affection any other unexpected day. refreshing, someone who doesn't like the hallmark holiday. i used to like it, i won't lie its nice to get flowers and chocolates, but this year i experienced something rare - true love. valentines day landed on a saturday this year, which as you know saturday mornings in the city are my absolute favorite - church at advent hope. 87th b/w park & lex is where you can find me on a saturday spent in the city. i realized that love has been a part of my life every single day, no card or rose needed to prove it, and this weekend was no different. sooo i didn't get showered with gifts and texts from ONE person - i got texts all day from SEVERAL people - people who all really truly love me. love is love, wether it comes from a romantic relationship or familial relationship or just friendship, it comes in all forms and im glad to be experiencing the warm embrace of the love that matters most in my life - that of my friends and family. not to mention mr. chocolate chip cookie definitely came through for me along with the princess diaries, how to lose a guy in 10 days, the break-up, and monster in law (movie marathons are the best). celebrate your love, wherever it roots from, and know that above all, He loves us most.
